Coping physically with cancer
Cancer and its treatment can change the way you look. This can affect you in different ways. The changes you might have depend on the type of cancer you have and the treatment you need.
It can be hard to cope with changes to how you look. There are different things you can do and people who can help you.
Hair loss and hair thinning are common side effects of some cancer treatments. For most people, the hair grows back or starts to thicken, either with time or when you finish treatment.
Cancer treatments can change your skin and affect your appearance. Learning some skin care and make up tips can boost your confidence and help you look and feel more like yourself.
There are lots of organisations, support groups and helpful books to help you cope with changes to how you look.
