Coping with laryngeal cancer can be difficult. There is help and support available.
A breathing stoma is a hole in your neck that you breathe through after surgery to your larynx. You might have a temporary stoma or a permanent stoma.
After having your voice box removed (laryngectomy) you will, unfortunately, lose your voice. But you can learn different ways to communicate.
After treatment for laryngeal cancer, you might have difficulty swallowing, loss of taste or weight loss. But there are things you can do to help you cope.
How laryngeal cancer and its treatment can cause changes to your appearance and how you feel about yourself. This can affect your sex life. But there is support available to help you cope.
There are several organisations, support groups, books, videos and other resources to help you cope with laryngeal cancer and treatment.
